SHIFT SUPERVISOR
As a Shift Supervisor, part of your role is to:
- Direct operators in the operation of the generating plant, including all auxiliary equipment and balance-of-plant systems, in a safe and professional manner, and in accordance with industry standards, environmental regulations, original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze plant operating issues and take necessary actions, or provide instructions to operators, to restore the plant to normal operation, or endorse recommended solutions to the Shift Superintendent as appropriate.
- Strictly implement the department’s standard operating procedures, including lockout and tagout procedures, and ensure that log sheets, routine checks, and tests are properly carried out
What we are looking for:
- Licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least one (1) year of experience in the same position or in a similar capacity, preferably in a coal-fired power plant.
- Practical understanding of the proper operation of boilers, turbines, generators, and associated auxiliary systems.
- Well-versed in environmental regulations applicable to the operation of a thermal-fired power plant.
- Experience with the Permit-to-Work System (PTW) and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) scheme.
- Well-developed oral and written communication and report-writing skills.
