Investing in the future: Our indigenous communities engaged in ADSDPP planning
The ADSDPP is a testament to the independence and wisdom of indigenous communities as it outlines their vision for the holistic development and protection of their ancestral domain encompassing from cultural preservation, resource conservation to education and healthcare aligned to their customary laws and traditional knowledge.
This weeklong workshop session from March 3-7, 2025 which took place in Brgy. Lunotan, Gingoog City, involves mapping of ancestral lands, identification of cultural sites, assessment of natural resources and formulation of strategies for sustainable resource management where traditional knowledge is interlaced with modern planning techniques. The long journey of crafting ADSDPP requires time, dedication and resources and will be made possible with the unwavering commitment of the indigenous communities supported by dedicated partner organizations and government agencies such as the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) Gingoog City and the LGU of Balingasag.
